Automatic Writing
Automatic writing is a method, an approach, an attempt to let the subconscious surface.
Deeply rooted in the history of artistic experiments and intellectual thought, it can bring up reflection and creation of material that is highly personal and intimate.
In the creation of a musical work, automatic writing could be used as a way to generate material, a way to let go of self-judgement and go with the flow while writing, a way to embrace the indeterminacy of performative actions and much more. At a concert, three composers will explore their unique approaches to automatic writing by presenting their own original works.
